While the letterbox transfer vastly exceeds the VHS version, with rich colours and a close to proper aspect ratio, the framing of the transfer includes too much top material an excludes some side info, and includes annoying splice artifacts between many scenes. The picture is very good, and the sound is excellent, however the splice anomalies are distracting (at least to me), and therefore make this a less than perfect representation of the film.

This version has been superceded by the vastly improved DVD version.
