Well,
here it finally comes - the slap in the face of all those
disbelieving Thomasses (or whatever their name might be)
and all of those big mouthed smart-asses and kill-joys of
(Germany's) metal scene.
The
release of this CD had been anounced for years, and now
I hold the precious silver disc in my very hands. "Of
The Sun + Moon" is a reward for everybody who did not
loose their faith in Jeff Ulmer and his lifework project
SACRED BLADE.
The
album had been recorded about 13 years ago with analog technique
and was now digitally remastered with rigorous attention
to detail, and the result fullfills any dream. The genious
cover artwork itself would be reason enough to purchase
the record. All of the songs are on the highest musical
level with a crunchy and fresh killer sound which will blow
your speakers nowadays as well as in ten years.
Especially
the calm, Pink Floydish instrumental "To Lunar Windz..."
gained profit from the digital remastering, but the 8-minute
super-song "Moon", this record's overwhelming
crowning achievement, even more. There are no words in this
world to do justice to this wonderful piece of music, therefore
I avoid trying, well aware of my inevitable defeat.
I know
you usually won't listen to me, but this time you should
be prepared to overcome your usual doubts, cross the sill
of miserliness and go for this masterpiece of progressive
(metal-) music. The limited edition CD (2000 copies) is
sold exclusively via the SACRED BLADE website "Moonwatch
Command Module" for the price of 25 US$ incl. P&P.
Please
don't be scared off by the price which seems to be very
high at the first glance - this album is really worth every
single Cent, and will cost you only little more than the
terrible bootleg "Seven Moons Of Xercez" which
was released some years ago. This amateurish, made up CD
had the worst sound quality you could ever think about;
despite its impudent price it was sold successfully. Even
I couldn't resist, and squandered 40.00 DM (about US $ 22)
in buying it.
Now
you've got the unique occasion to purchase this classic
as a regular CD release. Do not hesitate any longer and
send your money to the Canadian woods - you won't regret
it. "Of The Sun + Moon" is presented to you dressed
up with a brilliant new sound and will take you to exciting
and unknown galaxies.
Finally
I recommend visiting SACRED BLADE's website where you will
find loads of information. You will learn there about the
bands previous releases as well as about the making of the
most wonderful coverartwork and the forthcoming SACRED BLADE
projects. Those who haven't heard their music so far can
check out some soundfiles. Furthermore, there's the online
edition of the magazine "Sacred Blade Moonwatch Commandscript".
And of course you will find the details about ordering the
limited edition "Of The Sun + Moon" CD.
