"Everything about this release is perfect, this CD redefines the word "CLASSIC" for me. "
Sven Freller - Germany

9/10 - Rock Hard Magazine

From The Bridge

Welcome to the Moonwatch Commandscript Online!
Extraterrestrial greetings, and welcome to the debut online edition of the Moonwatch Commandscript, a magazine dedicated to all things Sacred Blade.

In this and future editions, you will find behind the scenes information on the band, their recordings, live performances, and any other information fit to print (err, surf)! Parts of this volume feature articles originally published in the printed version of Commandscripts 4 and 5.

In this issue we explore many of the aspects of Of The Sun + Moon, Sacred Blade's 1986 debut album, songwriting, recording, the artwork and packaging details.

We also begin to examine the process of songwriting (the recording process will be covered in the next edition of the Moonwatch Commandscript), take a look at the history of the Commandscript, and see how Sacred Blade is appearing in the art world.

We need your feedback in order to improve this publication. If you would like to see a story on an aspect of Sacred Blade not covered here, let us know. Feel free to drop us a line with your comments, criticisms or suggestions on how to improve this digest, we look forward to hearing from you.

Until next time, keep your eyes to the skies.

Nuts and Bolts (or is that bits and bytes?)

For those interested in the technology used to create this publication, the online edition was coded in Simpletext on a Power Macintosh 7200/75 computer with 58 megs RAM, using a TwinTurbo128M video card driving a 20" Ikegami monitor.
Photographs were scanned with an Epson ES-800C flatbed scanner, and manipulated in Adobe Photoshop 3.05. Artwork was created in Adobe Illustrator 6, or imported from the original Aldus Freehand 2 and 3 files. The original printed editions were created on a Mac Plus (1989) and an SE/30 (1991) using Aldus Pagemaker, Freehand and Photoshop.

Web pages were beta tested using Netscape Navigator 2.0, Netscape Atlas PR2, and Microsoft Explorer 2. The pages are served by Starnine's Webstar server software running on Apple Macintosh computers.
