| Created by world renowned Vancouver artist Ken Lum in 1990
as part of his Portrait Logo series, WE ARE SACRED BLADE, measuring
121.3 x 279.4 cm (4' x 9') debuted simultaneously at the Vancouver
Art Gallery (Vancouver, Canada) and the Andrea Rosen Gallery
(New York, USA). Two copies of this piece exist, originally sold
for $14,000. WE ARE SACRED BLADE continues to receive gallery
showings worldwide, most recently at Toronto's Power Plant
Gallery as part of a ten year retrospective of Lum's work. |

| In March 2005, Vancouver artists Hadley + Maxwell invited
the members of OTHYRWORLD to participate in a tribute to Ken
Lum's 1990 work WE ARE SACRED BLADE. Shot by photographer Sven
Boecker, WE ARE OTHYRWORLD becomes the second major art piece
to feature former SACRED BLADE members Jeff Ulmer, Ted Zawadzki
and Randy Robertson. The piece debuted at the Western Front
Gallery in Vancouver alongside a video in which Jeff
describes the creation of the SACRED BLADE cover art, and contrasts
it with that on the debut OTHYRWORLD CD. [more] |
